All Cakes made by Hayley-Jane’s Cakes are subject to the following terms and conditions.

Ordering Policies

All Hayley-Jane’s Cakes for weddings or other large events are custom-made. In order to ensure your cake is exactly how you want it – and to make sure that we stay on schedule for all of our clients – we do maintain a set of standard ordering policies that we ask you to observe. If you have any questions about your order or any of the following policies, please call or email us, we’ll be more than happy to discuss your concerns!

Pricing Quotes

To ensure that Hayley-Jane’s Cakes can properly schedule cakes and delivery for our customers, the following policies regarding our price quotes are required. Thank you for your understanding.

Email or telephone price quotes are estimates only and are good for five days.
Quotes cannot be guaranteed without a deposit.

Dates cannot be guaranteed unless we receive a 50% deposit or full payment at least fourteen days prior to the scheduled event.

No-discounts Policy

Please be advised Hayley-Jane’s Cakes do not offer any discounts on customised cakes. Our goal is make awesome cakes at the best price, and to treat every customer equally. If you feel the need to ask for a discount, you are more than welcome to explore buying customised cakes from our competitors. But please understand the reason we don’t discount is because we believe we make our customised cakes to a high standard for a very competitive price.

Basic Cake Pricing

Basic cake pricing for Hayley-Jane’s Cakes will include your choice of the following:

Cake:
Chocolate, White/Vanilla, Marble, Red Velvet, Fruit Cake

Icing:
Butter Cream, Chocolate Butter Cream, Cream Cheese, Rolled Fondant (vanilla or chocolate), Whipped Cream, Chocolate Whipped Cream, Mocha Whipped Cream

Fillings:
Chocolate Cream, Chocolate with Jam (raspberry or strawberry), Lemon, Custard, Butter Cream. Sponge, flavoured and chocolate cakes, are made to be eaten on the day of the event.

Finalizing Your Order

No later than fourteen (14) days prior to the event, we will need a final guest count and any last minute changes to your order. Also, final payment must be received no later than fourteen (14) days prior to the scheduled event. If final payment or other arrangements are not made by this time, the order will be cancelled, and all monies will be forfeited. Hayley-Jane’s Cakes will not make any cakes until payment in full has been received, and we do not accept late payments without prior arrangement.

Payment

A minimum down payment of fifty percent (50%) is required at the time of this order to guarantee the selected time and date of delivery. This contract is not valid or binding until the down payment has been received. Payment in full is required no less than fourteen (14) days prior to delivery.

Cancellation Policy:

If Cancellation is: (a) More than fourteen (14) days prior to the event: A refund will be granted, minus a £50.00 rebooking fee. (b) Between seven (7) and fourteen (14) days prior to event: A refund will be granted, minus a 50% cancellation fee to cover the expense of supplies purchased and loss of potential income due to late notification. (c) If the contract is cancelled less than seven (7) days prior to the event: No refund will be given.
In the event of unforeseen circumstances preventing us from fulfilling the order as agreed upon in this contract, the customer will be entitled to a full refund of the amount paid, including any deposit.

Collection:

Customers may choose to collect their cake from Hayley-Jane’s Cakes in Colney Heath.

Hayley-Jane’s Cakes will arrange a suitable time for when the cake will be ready for collection, this will have been confirmed and agreed with the customer. Please be advised once a time has been agreed with the customer for collection, this time cannot be changed unless the customer contacts us within 48 hours of the agreed collection time.

Full refunds will never be given for any cake which has been inspected and accepeted on collection from our shop. Customers are always advised on the correct transportation methods for their cake, if any damage is caused in transit from our shop, it is not the responsibility of Hayley-Jane’s Cakes. Once the cake has left our premises, it the sole responsibilty of the customer.

Delivery:

All deliveries need to be scheduled at least one hour before the reception.
At the time of delivery and setup, a designated responsible party must be present to inspect and sign for final cake setup. In the case of a mishap or damage, Hayley-Jane’s Cakes will advise the responsible party immediately. Once the cake is set up and accepted, it is no longer the responsibility of Hayley-Jane’s Cakes. Due to the high volume of cake deliveries, we cannot wait more than 10-20 minutes after your scheduled delivery time. Please be certain that the facility is prepared to accept delivery at the time you schedule. No changes can be made to delivery time or a date within two (2) weeks of the delivery.

Design

We attempt to make every effort to create a cake designed to your exact wishes. It is your responsibility to ensure that your wishes are clearly stated and colour swatches, photographs and other design aspects are given accurately to Hayley-Jane’s Cakes. All design aspects must be delivered to our location no later than 7 working days prior to cake delivery date and time.

Fresh Flowers

If you are requesting that real flowers be included in your cake design, please have your florist provide the correct type and number of flowers needed to complete your desired design. We require that you or your florist delivery your flowers at least 8 hours prior to cake delivery time. We are not responsible for damages that occur if other parties attempt to place flowers onto the cake after delivery. You acknowledge that fresh flowers are not a food product and may contain pesticides, insects, dirt, or other contaminants.

Gum Paste Flowers

If you request gum paste flowers, we make every attempt to order them in time for your event from our suppliers. In the case that they are back-ordered or do not arrive on time, we will substitute a quality silk equivalent to carry out your design.

Stands, Dividers & Other Cake Devices

In the event that Hayley-Jane’s Cakes provides cake stands, dividers and other cake devices not purchased by you, they must be returned within seven (7) days of the event) in order to receive a refund of your deposit on these items. Failure to return these items will result in no refund of stand deposit.

Cake Toppers & Other Decorative Items

Cake Toppers, Ornaments, Ribbon or other decorations provided by you must be delivered to Hayley-Jane’s Cakes a minimum of seven (7) days prior to cake delivery.

Cake Table

You are responsible for ensuring that there is a cake table available at time of scheduled cake delivery. If the table is to be skirted or otherwise covered, it must be prepared before the cake is set up. The table must be secure and level and must be able to support a minimum of 50 pounds. Once the cake is set up – it is no longer the responsibility of Hayley-Jane’s Cakes. We cannot be held responsible for tables provided by the customer that fail to support the weight of the cake, or for any problems/damages that may occur if the cake is moved after delivery.

Weather / Climate Conditions

It is the responsibility of the customer to ensure that the cake will be stored and set-up in an area that is climate controlled to ensure that the cake remains intake and retains its original condition. Extreme high temperatures and humidity due to weather conditions, and the lack of a cool environment at the appointed location, may adversely affect the condition of the cake. Hayley-Jane’s Cakes will take every step possible to ensure a quality product on delivery. But we cannot be held responsible for unfavourable conditions at the cake’s destination.

Allergens Disclaimer

Hayley-Jane’s Cakes cannot ensure that any of our products are free of allergens (i.e., nuts, eggs, or other baking ingredients that may cause allergic reactions.) We make every attempt to ensure that your baked goods are free from foreign objects. We are not responsible for damages caused by foreign objects such as candles, sparklers, or other decorations that are place in or on our products, nor are we responsible for damages to said products or persons handling them once they are picked up, removed, or delivered from our premises.

Miscellaneous

Hayley-Jane’s Cakes may photograph our cakes and we reserve the right to use any photographs for display or promotion without notice or compensation to you.

Disputes

Any refund given for disputes regarding a cake design or production of a design are completely at the discretion of Hayley-Jane’s Cakes and are not automatic.  Full refunds will never be given for any cake which has been consumed regardless of dispute, as consumption of the cake is viewed as your acceptance that the cake is adequate for the purpose for which it has been supplied.

All cakes delivered to venues are photographed from different angles to show cake quality on delivery we do not accept any responsibility for loss or damage to the cake or items with the cake such as knives, decorations and stands, once the cake has been delivered to a venue or collected from our shop, or for loss, damage or non-delivery under unavoidable or exceptional circumstances. This in no way affects your statutory rights.
